Turner Authentication
At Turner Experts we authenticate the works of Joseph Mallord William Turner.
We have native French, Italian, and German speakers on staff and, as such, can avail ourselves of the original source material found in libraries and galleries. We also employ advanced forensic techniques, including paper analysis, and X-ray photography as an adjunct to the scholarly investigative practices and art connoisseurship necessary to make a qualified determination as to authenticity.
Turner was extremely prolific. His work was first exhibited by the Royal Society at the age of 15, and it is a virtual certainty that not all of his prodigious output has been discovered. It's reasonable to expect that that there are numerous works unidentified as Turner, and considering that his paintings have sold at auction in the mid eight figure range, it would be prudent to consult Turner Experts should you have the thought that you may be in possession of one of his paintings.
Turner was highly secretive and travelled extensively along the Loire, though Switzerland, the UK, Italy and other countries. There is a limited record of his travels, and he was painting all along the way, oils and watercolors. It is likely he gave away many sketches and paintings as he moved from place to place.
Following a positive determination that the work is indeed by Turner we will issue a Certificate of Authenticity (COA.)
